Seekan PVB (Polyvinyl butyral) interlayer, after processing under controlled heat and pressure conditions, assumes a similar refractive index to the glass ¨C consequently having no adverse effects upon light transmission ¨C and at the same time, absorbing over 99% of the harmful ultraviolet rays found in natural sunlight. The excellent bond strength of the PVB to glass serves to maintain the integrity of the laminating in the event of deliberate or accidental damage, meanwhile also preventing penetration through the assembly. What's more, it can offer protection even after the glass is broken, because glass fragments adhere to the interlayer.It has been mostly used in architectural buildings

Safety performance
When laminated glass is impacted, typically breaks safely and remains an integral part of the opening. Due to the action
of absorbing impact energy and adherence capacity, the fragments are still attached to the PVB film and it is not easy for impact things to penetrate the glass, which reduces the harm to human body, prevent natural and man-made damage as well as the happening of various contingency.
Heat shielding
Laminated glass has a good heat preservation performance, which can reduce the hot exchange with the indoor air in winter
and summer, so that it can conserve the energy.
Sound shielding
Inosculation effect will come out when the sound wavelength in air is equal to the bent one in glass. Within the range of
this frequency, ordinary glass is easy to be penetrated by sound. Because the sound is compound with different sound frequency, effective sound control should be reduced in large range. Laminated glass can effectively prevent 1000-2000 Hz noise which ordinary often meet because shock damping come out when wave penetrates glass.
UV filtering
Seekan PVB interlayer filters out more than 99% of ultraviolet rays in sunlight, protecting people and products from
harm. Ultraviolet has an effect of sterilization, disinfection and medical treatment, which also cause the fade of fiber products, paintings, furniture and necessities. If laminated glass with PVB interlayer is used, ultraviolet can be separated. So it is applied widely in gallery, museum, display windows of advanced commodities.

Seekan PVB (Polyvinyl butyral) interlayer is a special tough and resilient material which is sandwiched between two layers of glass and then permanently bonded using high temperatures and pressure. Generally, it is 0.38 mm thick, although for auto or extra strength interlayers 0.76 mm thicknesses are used.
Laminated safety glass with Seekan PVB interlayer can be used mostly in architectural buildings and automotive windshields,it is also extremely versatile in commercial applications for skylights, partitions, curtain walls, doors, and even roofs.
