| Seekan PVB (Polyvinyl butyral)
interlayer, after processing under controlled heat and
pressure conditions, assumes a similar refractive index
to the glass ¨C consequently having no adverse effects
upon light transmission ¨C and at the same time, absorbing
over 99% of the harmful ultraviolet rays found in natural
sunlight. The excellent bond strength of the PVB to glass
serves to maintain the integrity of the laminating in
the event of deliberate or accidental damage, meanwhile
also preventing penetration through the assembly. What's
more, it can offer protection even after the glass
is broken, because glass fragments adhere to the interlayer.It

When laminated glass is

Seekan PVB (Polyvinyl
butyral) interlayer is a special tough and resilient material
which is sandwiched between two layers of glass and then
permanently bonded using high temperatures and pressure.
Generally, it is 0.38 mm thick, although for auto or extra
strength interlayers 0.76 mm thicknesses are used.
Laminated safety glass with Seekan PVB interlayer can
be used mostly in architectural buildings and automotive
windshields,it is also extremely versatile in commercial
applications for skylights, partitions, curtain walls,
doors, and even roofs. |
